My class had a set theme for our dresses, they were supposed to be structured and inspired by New York City architecture. (It's hard when there is a class theme... I designed this piece in mind with soft flowing fabric but then "structured" was added to the theme and I then had to go with a silk taffeta so it didn't turn out quite how I wanted it to). We then had to incorporate at least 2 things we learned during the semester (I chose princess seams and a cowl neck). We had to take pictures of buildings/architecture in the city for our inspiration. I went to the highline (my favorite place) and combined two pictures to form my inspiration.
